If you think all huge industry giants are thinking about is the almighty dollar during this worldwide Coronavirus pandemic, think again.
Throughout the world, big industry is doing big things to make a difference during the COVID-19 crisis. Some companies are keeping hourly workers on the payroll while others are reimbursing employees who show receipts of coffee or food purchased from locally-owned small businesses. Some corporations are establishing paid sick leave programs for employees who choose to take a two-week quarantine.
A huge airline CEO donated his own year’s salary to avoid employee layoffs.
Some manufacturers are taking it a step further, using their tools and resources to create much-needed supplies. One company is using 3D-printing technology to manufacture respiratory valve machines, while another corporate giant has halted its perfume manufacturing operation to produce hand sanitizers instead.
This morning the Grundfos Foundation donated $29 million USD to support research for safe water, sanitation and hygiene solutions that will help mitigate the transmission of COVID-19. The donation is also being used towards the continued development of sustainable solutions for clean water missions and humanitarian aid efforts around the world.
The following are some links to more details and more stories of big manufacturers doing big things during this COVID-19 pandemic.
