Michelle Segrest loves to tell a great story.
In 2015, after more than 25 years of experience as an award-winning journalist, Michelle founded Navigate Content with two specific goals in mind — to continue to develop intriguing content for the industry she loves while also being the captain of her own ship.
Michelle has a proven track record for conceiving, producing, implementing, and marketing big ideas that leverage profitability and expand the overall brand profile for her clients. Michelle strongly believes that developing just the right content requires a deep understanding of the industry and a connection to the audience. Michelle and her Navigate Content team have the ability and experience to create editorial messages that elevate your brand to the top of your industry.
Michelle has created and branded editorial content for the processing industries since 2008. She specializes in building relationships and has leveraged her unique connection to the industry to develop in-depth enterprising features, technical articles, case studies, event coverage, podcasts, and webinars for a variety of industries, publications, manufacturers, and agencies.
No other reporter in the processing industries has seen manufacturing as up-close-and-personal as Michelle Segrest. She has toured manufacturing facilities in more than 75 cities, in 12 countries, and on three continents. She has covered more than 150 industry events worldwide, and has been the keynote speaker at three national conferences.
A graduate of Auburn University, Michelle has spent more than 34 years reporting about everything from sports to courts, lifestyles to business, politics to pastries, and technical to travel. On this site, she creates three critically-acclaimed blogs.

Her home office is on Plash Island in Gulf Shores, Alabama, USA, but you won't find her there very often. How to Get Your Sea Legs is Michelle’s award-winning blog that chronicles her adventures sailing the world for a year on a 43-foot sailboat—a journey that included an Atlantic Ocean crossing, epic battles with seasickness, remarkable wildlife encounters, and amazing destinations explored along the way. The blog made Feedspot’s list of the best sailing blogs of 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. She is the author of several sailing books, including a 3-book memoir.

For nearly two decades, Rick has utilized his talent for developing key marketing strategies for high-profile companies in a variety of industries. For the past 12 years, his passion for marketing within the engineering, industrial and manufacturing sectors has been fueled by opportunities to drive creative, game-changing campaigns that made an impactful difference for his clients in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, New Zealand and Australia.

He has been the senior team leader for complete marketing and communications functions for various organizations and takes pride in being the brand custodian for his clients. In recent years, he has specifically honed his skills in multi-brand / multi-discipline environments, often managing many brands within huge international corporations.
He has been successful in covering research and strategy all the way through to campaign execution, control, and post-implementation evaluation. His experience is deep and diverse. He has driven projects for both ‘above-the-line’ media channels (radio, TV, print) and ‘below-the-line’ media channels (relationship / direct marketing, SMS, e-mail as well as digital, on-line and social media marketing.)
Rick holds a post-graduate degree in Strategic Marketing and has received a Fellowship from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom. He also lectures Marketing at the International Business College of Manchester. He is the Director and Senior Marketing Strategist for Lasso Consulting. He is co-author of the book How to Creatively Market a Technical Product.

Bethany Womack, Photography & Branding Specialist

A graduate of Texas A&M University, Bethany is a marketing strategist with a passion for empowering brands. She works with small businesses and entrepreneurs to help establish and perpetuate a consistent brand message through design, photography, and copywriting.
Bethany worked as a marketing director creating and implementing marketing plans for million dollar events around the world, and totally rocked it. She has experience as the creative director for all visual collateral, directed event videos, and initiated a transition to three new websites. She negotiated schedules and contracts for ad campaigns, then designed and delivered the files. She developed and nurtured working-relationships with influential media members and wrote press releases, emails, website copy, and edited speeches. She managed all of the social media platforms and most importantly, forged a consistent content marketing strategy (with visual assets and written copy) that helped to solidify the brand in the eyes of the target audience, all while navigating a rebrand and new product launch.
A much larger vision inspired her to build her own company doing what she does best! She now empowers entrepreneurs and small businesses to showcase the best version of themselves. She will make your product/story/business come to life with striking images, compelling copy, and a consistent marketing strategy.

Paige is a matchmaker to brands and the consumers they covet. She evangelizes the use of content to inspire consumers to take action and turn them into brand ambassadors.
After two decades as an award-winning journalist, Paige fell in love with digital marketing, a world built on data, evolving technologies and a new way of storytelling. A graduate of Auburn University, she led content strategy for Home Depot as editor-in-chief of homedepot.com; led special projects for AOL/Huffington Post/Patch; and led reporters and business news coverage at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and other dailies. Her digital strategy clients have included the College Football Hall of Fame, Banfield Pet Hospital, Nutro, Greenies, and Bauerfeind.
